Governor Rauner has ordered that all State-occupied facilities fly the flag of the United States of America and Illinois flags at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on the day of the funeral of every fallen Illinois soldier and the two days preceding that day. Lowering of Flags - The 50th Anniversary of the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy

The Department of Central Management Services has received notice from
Governor Quinn’s Office that all persons or entities covered by the Illinois Flag Display
Act are to fly the flags at half-staff in honor and remembrance of:
The 50th Anniversary of the Assassination of
President John F. Kennedy
Please lower the United States flags and the State flags at all buildings occupied by
your agency’s personnel from:
Sunrise, Friday, November 22, 2013 until
Sunset, Friday, November 22, 2013
The Governor has also encouraged people across Illinois to
reflect on the legacy of President Kennedy with a moment of silence at 1 p.m.
