Press Release - Tuesday, February 19, 2013

Springfield— Since President and Chief Executive Officer of the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB) Geoffrey Obrzut announced his plans to retire from that position on June 30, 2013, the ICCB has begun the nationwide search for a new Executive Director.

The Executive Director reports directly to the Board and serves as the chief community college system representative working with the Office of the Governor, the Illinois General Assembly and its various legislative committees, the Illinois Board of Higher Education, and other state agencies.

Qualified applicants may find more information including an online application form on the ICCB’s website: www.iccb.org. To ensure a full consideration, individuals should submit a complete application package prior to March 8, 2013.

ICCB Chairman Alexi Giannoulias leads the search committee, which also includes six other Board members.

The ICCB is the state coordinating board for community colleges. Illinois is home to 48 community colleges in 39 districts and has the third largest community college system enrollment in the nation.
