Governor Quinn Announces $958,000 for Construction Projects in DeKalb County

DEKALB – Governor Pat Quinn today announced an investment of $958,000 for construction projects in DeKalb County. Funded by his Illinois Jobs Now! construction program, the projects are part of Governor Quinn’s commitment to creating jobs and driving Illinois’ economy forward.

“These projects will address critical infrastructure needs in DeKalb County, improve safety and increase mobility,” Governor Quinn said. “The projects will also employ a number of construction workers, which benefits the local economy.”

The projects will be managed by the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT).

DeKalb

Illinois Route 23 will be resurfaced from Gurler Road to Taylor Street, a distance of 1.9 miles, for $868,880 by Curran Contracting Company of Crystal Lake, the lowest of three bidders.

Waterman

New sanitary sewer manholes and a water service line will be installed along U.S. Route 30 at the IDOT Maintenance Facility about two-tenths of a mile west of Illinois Route 23. Martin & Company Excavating of Oregon was the lowest of eight bidders at $89,421.

The projects are part of Governor Quinn’s $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now! program, which will support more than 439,000 jobs over six years. Illinois Jobs Now! is the largest construction program in Illinois history, and is one of the largest construction programs in the nation.
