Governor Quinn Announces $335,000 for Construction Project in Scott County

Press Release - Thursday, September 05, 2013

BLUFFS – Governor Pat Quinn today announced capital investments of more than $335,000 for a road construction project in Scott County. The project is part of Governor Quinn’s agenda to create jobs and drive Illinois’ economy forward.

“This construction project will improve a section of Route 100, a key transportation route in Scott County,” Governor Quinn said. “It will also employ a number of construction workers, which will help the local economy as well.”

Illinois Route 100 from south of Butterfly Lane to one-third mile south of Apple Pie Ridge Road southwest of Bluffs will be patched and resurfaced for $335,573 by Illinois Valley Paving, a Division of United Contractors Midwest, Inc. of Springfield, the lowest of two bidders for the job. The Illinois Department of Transportation will manage the project.

"This project is another step in the right direction as we try to play catch-up on the aging infrastructure throughout the 100th District and the State of Illinois," State Rep. C.D. Davidsmeyer (R-Jacksonville) said.

This project is part of Governor Quinn’s $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now! program, which will support more than 439,000 jobs over six years. Illinois Jobs Now! is the largest capital construction program in Illinois history, and is one of the largest capital construction programs in the nation.
