Illinois State Fair To Host KISS Army Costume Contest

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - KISS fans can show their devotion to the legendary rock band and score a free ticket to the Illinois State Fair performance of the KISS tribute band The Original KISS Army by participating in The Original Kiss Army Costume Competition.

The Original KISS Army Costume Competition will take place Saturday, Aug. 14, at the APEX stage at 5 p.m. Each fairgoer who signs up to participate in the contest will receive a free ticket to The Original KISS Army concert that evening at 8 p.m. in the Grandstand.

The competition is free and there are no age requirements to enter.  Contestants can enter either as an individual or as a group.  To register, either go online to www.illinoisstatefair.info and click on The Original KISS Army tab or call the Illinois State Fair Special Events Office at (217) 782-0777. Fairgoers also can register the day of the competition by coming to the APEX Stage at 4:30 p.m.

The competition will have four judges.  They will grade contestants on appearance and presentation.  Winners of the competition, group and individual, will receive prizes that include KISS Army concert tickets and backstage passes and will be introduced on the Grandstand stage prior to the concert.

The Illinois State Fair runs Aug. 13-22.
