Liquor Control Commission May Underage Compliance Report

SPRINGFIELD - In May the Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) conducted compliance checks around the state and visited 210 businesses licensed to sell liquor.  They cited 55 licensees for violations of liquor control laws.  Seventy-four percent of the licensees visited complied with Illinois liquor laws and refused to serve underage customers.

This report is a result of ongoing undercover and cooperative law enforcement operations conducted by Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) agents and local law enforcement officials and volunteers from high schools and colleges.  The teams randomly visit liquor stores, restaurants and bars in communities around the state to check for ongoing compliance with state laws mandating that no liquor is sold to minors under the age of 21. ILCC agents also work with local and state law enforcement agents to focus on communities with a high incidence of underage liquor sales.

 Adams County - On May 5th, 2010 ILCC Special Agents and the Illinois State Police District #20 conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Adams County. Of the 21 compliance checks conducted, two licensees sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• The Place, 1040 Hampshire, Quincy

Batavia - On May 18th, 2010 ILCC Special Agents and the Batavia Police Department conducted alcohol compliance checks in Batavia. Of the eight licensees checked, two licensees sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• Chilli's Grill & Bar, 491 N. Randall Rd. Batavia

DeKalb County - On May 20th, 2010 ILCC Special Agents and the Illinois State Police District # 2 conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in DeKalb County. Of the 19 licensees checked, eight licensees sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were;

• D & J Pkg Liquors, 272 Lincoln, Hinckley
• Nite Crawlers, 109 W. Commanche, Shabbona

Granite City - On May 20th, 2010 ILCC Special Agents and the Illinois State Police District 11 conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Granite City and Pontoon Beach. Of the 15 licensees checked, six licensees sold to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were;

Joliet - On May 13th, 2010 ILCC Special Agents and the Joliet Police Department conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Joliet. Of the 24 licensees checked, nine licensees sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

Lawrence County - On May 20th, 2010 ILCC Special Agents and the Illinois State Police District 12 conducted alcohol compliance checks in Lawrence, Effingham and Richland Counties. Of the 13 licensee checked, five licensees sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were;

Monroe County - On May 6th, 2010 ILCC Special Agents and the Illinois State Police District # 11 conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Monroe and St Clair Counties. Of the 34 licensees checked, six licensees sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

Perry County - On May 20th, 2010 ILCC Special Agents and the Illinois State Police District # 13 conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Perry County. Of the 26 licensees checked, six licensees sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

Rock Island County - On May 5th, 2010 ILCC Special Agents and the Illinois State Police District # 7 conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Rock Island County. Of the nine licensees checked, one licensee sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. That licensee was:

• Git-N-Go Convenience Store, 1302 2nd Ave. Rapids City

Stephenson County - On May 12th, 2010 ILCC Special Agents and the Stephenson County Sheriff's Department conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Stephenson County. Of the 10 licensees checked, three licensees sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

Wayne County - On May 27th, 2010 ILCC Special Agents and the Illinois State Police District 19 conducted alcohol compliance checks in Wayne, Hamilton, Saline and Gallatin Counties. Of the 31 licensees checked, seven licensees sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were;
