Liquor Control Commission December Underage Compliance Report

SPRINGFIELD - In December the Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) conducted compliance checks around the state and visited 79 businesses licensed to sell liquor.  They cited 9 licensees for violations of liquor control laws.  Eighty-nine percent of the licensees visited complied with Illinois liquor laws and refused to serve underage customers.

This report is a result of ongoing undercover and cooperative law enforcement operations conducted by Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) agents and local law enforcement officials and volunteers from high schools and colleges.  The teams randomly visit liquor stores, restaurants and bars in communities around the state to check for ongoing compliance with state laws mandating that no liquor is sold to minors under the age of 21. ILCC agents also work with local and state law enforcement agents to focus on communities with a high incidence of underage liquor sales.

Effingham region - On December 2, ILCC Special Agents and the Illinois State Police conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Effingham, Crawford, Jasper, Clark and Richland Counties. There were 42 licenses checked and four were in violation selling alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licenses were:

• Marilyn's Liquor Cabinet, 946 S. West St., Olney
• Bottle Hut of Noble, 152 W.N. Ave., Noble
• Brickbat Bar & Grill, 122 E. Main, Teutopolis,
• D J's Party Supply 409 E. Main, Robinson


Plano - On December 10th, 2009 ILCC Special Agents and the Plano Police Department conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Plano. There were 7 licenses checked and one was in violation for selling alcohol to ILCC underage participants. That licensee was:

• Carlson Oil Co., 204 E. South St., Plano

Montgomery County - On December 18th, 2009 ILCC Special Agents and the Illinois State Police conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Montgomery County. There were 20 licensee's checked and four were in violation of selling alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those 4 licensees' were:

• Bernardini's, 116 W. Front St. Nokomis
• Just One More, 124 W. Front St., Nokomis
• Emil's, 100 S. Pine, Nokomis
• Caddy Shack Bar & Grill, 505 Main St., Farmersville
