Illinois State Fair Grandstand To Feature Professional Wrestling

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The Intergalactic Wrestling Federation will fill the Grandstand with punches, dropkicks and suplexes Sunday, Aug. 23 at 5 p.m. The event is free of charge to fairgoers and will feature current and former professional wrestling superstars.

Wrestlers scheduled to perform include: Rikishi, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, Ronny "The Dice Man" Vegas, The Barbarian, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, Bo Bo Brazil, Jr., Boink the Clown and valet Nicole Marie. Fans will also have the chance to meet the wrestlers and have their pictures taken with the participants. Autograph sessions will take place on Saturday, August 22 from 3-5pm in front of the Grandstand, and on Sunday, August 23 after the event.

As a special bonus, four contest winners will be selected to valet the wrestler of their choice from the locker room to the ring, watch the match at ringside and return with the wrestler to the locker room. Four more winners will be selected as "ring girls" and will take care of the wrestlers' attire and accessories after they enter the ring prior to the match.
