Ryan: $43,000 in Illinois FIRST Projects for the Kankakee River Valley

SPRINGFIELD -- Governor George H. Ryan announced today that he is releasing $43,000 in Illinois FIRST funding for projects in the Kankakee River Valley, including $25,000 to Braceville Township in Grundy County for a building addition at the Township Maintenance Facility.

The space addition will include a public meeting area, which will also be used for local boy and girl scout meetings.

Other Illinois FIRST grants announced by Ryan:

  • $18,000 to the Kerri Lynn's Child Care Center for bus transportation to and from the Braidwood Elementary School for a before-and-after school program.

These Illinois FIRST projects were initiated by State Rep. Mary K. O'Brien, D-Coal City.
