$375,000 in Illinois FIRST Projects for Western Illinois
SPRINGFIELD -- Governor George H. Ryan announced today that he is releasing $375,000 in Illinois FIRST funding for projects in western Illinois, including $175,000 to the Table Grove Fire Protection District to purchase a new rescue/pumper fire truck. Additionally, the funds will be used to purchase a fire fighting apparatus and equipment for the truck.
This Illinois FIRST project was initiated by State Rep. Richard P. Myers, R-Colchester.
Other Illinois FIRST grants announced by Ryan:
- $50,000 to Pike County to purchase an ambulance and equipment for the ambulance.
This project was initiated by State Sen. Laura Kent Donahue, R-Quincy. - $50,000 to the Western Area Purchasing Coop to purchase a building to provide a permanent warehouse and space to expand the building in order to add more schools. The Coop is a nonprofit organization that provides over 60 schools in West Central Illinois with supplies.
This project was initiated by Myers. - $25,000 to the Bowen Fire Protection District to purchase a new pumper fire truck.
This project was initiated by State Rep. Art Tenhouse, R-Liberty. - $25,000 to the Mendon Fire Protection District to purchase fire rescue equipment.
This project was initiated by Tenhouse. - $25,000 to the Pike County Senior Citizens Council to purchase a van for the transportation of senior citizens in the area.
This project was initiated by Tenhouse. - $25,000 to the Spring Creek Fire Protection District to purchase fire equipment such as hoses and nozzles.
This project was initiated by Tenhouse.
