Illinois State Fair Arena To Showcase Fan Favorites

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - The Arena will, once again, offer spectators unique, competitive and popular entertainment options at the 2007 Illinois State Fair. The fair announced today that Pro-Am arena cross and freestyle motocross, the Illinois Tractor Pullers Association's (ITPA) truck and tractor pull, and the Professional Championship Bullriders tour all will return this year.  

Opening the Arena's entertainment schedule on Friday, Aug. 10 will be Pro-Am arena cross at 7 p.m. Hundreds of racers from all age groups and over 20 classes are expected to compete for the title in their respective divisions. The competition begins on Friday and concludes on Saturday.

After the arena cross competition has finished, the Arena will welcome riders from across the nation in the annual Freestyle Motocross Challenge. Due to the popularity of NBC's Gravity Games and ESPN's X-Games, motocross is quickly becoming a premier alternative sport.

The 2007 Illinois State Fair will have its own rendition of the popular competition and spectators will be able to enjoy the high-flying action Friday and Saturday night.

The motorsport fun does not end there as the ITPA will again present Truck and Tractor pulls.  Always a fan favorite, the event provides a unique competition that is both heated and exciting for pullers and fans alike. The event begins Monday, Aug. 13 and runs through Wednesday, Aug. 15. 

The Professional Championship Bullriders tour will close the entertainment at the Arena.  Top athletes from one of the nation's fastest growing sports will compete at the State Fair on Aug. 17 and 18.
