$74,250 in Illinois FIRST Projects for Northwestern Illinois
SPRINGFIELD -- Governor George H. Ryan announced today that he is releasing $74,250 in Illinois FIRST funding for projects in Northwestern Illinois, including $50,000 to the Village of Sublette to replace sidewalks, install handicap ramps, renovate a parking area, and add lights along the sidewalks. This project will provide access for all pedestrians while improving the town's appearance for tourists. The village is contributing $53,450.
This Illinois FIRST project was initiated by State Rep. Jerry Mitchell, R-Sterling.
Other Illinois FIRST grants announced by Ryan:
- $18,250 to the Moline Second Alarmers Association to purchase a mobile air supply vehicle.
This project was initiated by State Rep. Mike Boland, D-East Moline. - $6,000 to the Two Rivers YMCA in the City of Moline to purchase new equipment for its small gymnasium.
This project was initiated by State Sen. Denny Jacobs, D- East Moline.
