Governor announces $250,000 to the City of Danville

CHICAGO - Governor Rod R. Blagojevich today awarded $250,000 to the City of Danville for construction of a new electrical substation adjacent to the existing power lines in Eastgate Industrial Park.

 

"I am pleased to support this industrial park which will stimulate growth in the area and create new jobs, " said Governor Blagojevich. "This new transformer will allow the industrial park to be a hub of economic growth in Danville."

 

The grant will be used to construct a new electrical substation in Danville at 70 Walz Creek Drive, adjacent to the City's existing power lines in Eastgate Industrial Park. The transformer will help the existing industry as well as provide for future industrial growth in the Eastgate Industrial Park. The substation will service a new 80,000 square foot manufacturing facility, Systrand Presta Engine Systems, LLC that will create 54 new, permanent jobs. The number of employees/positions is expected to double within the next five years, in turn, securing additional permanent positions for residents of Danville and surrounding areas. In addition, the substation will facilitate future growth and development on the south end of Eastgate Industrial Park.

 

"We would like to thank the Governor for awarding the funds for the new substation at Eastgate Industrial Park," said Representative Bill Black, who initiated the grant. "This money will allow electrical improvement at the park and for it to function at maximum capacity, ensure industrial growth and create jobs for the community of Danville."
