Blagojevich announces $350,000 for the City of Northlake

Press Release - Thursday, April 15, 2004

CHICAGO - Governor Rod R. Blagojevich today provided $350,000 in funding to the City of Northlake for a project along North Avenue (Route 64).  The work includes relocation of a frontage road and development of a parking area along the north side of North Avenue from Prater Avenue to Wolf Road.

"I'm glad the state can provide necessary resources for projects important to the economic well-being of our communities, such as the businesses along North Avenue in Northlake," said Governor Blagojevich.

The location and configuration of the frontage road has led to limited and inadequate access and parking for the businesses on the north side of North Avenue east of Wolf Road.

State Representative Skip Saviano originated the grant.  "This project makes this retail district more accessible for customers and means the location is more desirable for businesses to locate which improves the overall economic health of the area," said Saviano.  "I want to thank the Governor for providing this funding."
