Governor announces release of $25,000 to Pulaski County

CHICAGO - Governor Rod R. Blagojevich today announced $25,000 in funding for renovations to the Pulaski County Courthouse in Mound City.  This is the final installment on a $50,000 grant for this project.
 
"The county courthouse plays a vital role in the community and it is important to provide the appropriate resources in order to upgrade these facilities so they continue to meet the daily needs of local residents," said Governor Blagojevich.
 
The funding is being used for a new heating and air conditioning system and to complete construction of a new second floor courtroom.
 
"On behalf of the courthouse workers, and those who visit the courthouse for business, I'd like to thank the Governor for approving these funds which will improve the courthouse's working environment," said State Senator Gary Forby who is the current legislative sponsor of the grant.
