Governor announces $200,000 to Village of Stone Park
CHICAGO - Governor Rod R. Blagojevich today authorized a $200,000 state grant to the Village of Stone Park for the replacement of a water main in the 1700 and 1800 blocks of 35th Avenue.
"The people of Illinois have the right to expect their state and local governments to provide the necessary resources for projects that are important to their health and quality of life, such as a safe and reliable source of water," said Governor Blagojevich.
This portion of water main is aging and needs to be replaced in order to prevent additional unexpected water main breaks from occurring. Stone Park serves a population of more than 5,100.
State Representative Deborah Graham worked to bring this project to completion Illinois House Speaker Michael J. Madigan was the original sponsor of the project.
"I want to thank the Governor for approving this important project for Stone Park," said Representative Graham.
