Governor awards $25,000 to Rolling Meadows Park District

CHICAGO - Governor Rod R. Blagojevich today authorized a $25,000 grant to the Rolling Meadows Park District to offset costs of renovating the fire safety system at the park district's sports complex.  The Rolling Meadows facility serves approximately 30,000 people.  This is the final installment on a $50,000 grant for this project.
 
"I'm pleased to be able to help this community improve the safety its individuals and families utilizing this popular facility," said Governor Blagojevich. 
 
The Rolling Meadows Park District sports complex and ice arena is one of the area's most highly used facilities.  The park district serves approximately 20,000 residents.
 
"I want to thank the Governor for this important fire safety project," said State Representative Carolyn Krause, who currently represents the area. This project was originally sponsored by State Representative Suzanne "Suzie" Bassi.
