Statement from Governor Pat Quinn Regarding Illinois Senate's Passage of HB 3227

SPRINGFIELD - Governor Pat Quinn today gave the below statement regarding the Illinois Senate's passage of House Bill 3227, creating the Illinois Health Exchange, which the governor called for during his State of the State address:

"This legislation is an important first step towards my agenda to ensure Illinois fully reaps the benefits of the Affordable Care Act.

"I want to thank Senator Koehler for his leadership and hard work all session long on this issue, as well as everyone else who assisted in this important milestone.

"Now that it has passed the Senate, we look to the House to advance our commitment to President Obama's Affordable Care Act."
