July Is Senior Celebration Month At The Illinois Products Farmers' Market

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Illinois Products Farmers’ Market has proclaimed July “Senior Celebration Month.” 

Through a collaboration of the Illinois Department of Agriculture, Springfield Clinic and AARP, activities designed to appeal to senior citizens have been planned throughout the month, including health screenings, musical entertainment, special senior discounts and Illinois Products Bingo. 

The festivities begin July 5 when seniors are invited to register for senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupons from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.  To be eligible for registration, seniors must be 60 years or older and meet income guidelines.  For more information about the program, contact (217) 787-9234.

On July 19 at 5:30 p.m., AARP will present “Illinois Products Bingo.”  Young and old alike are invited to participate for a chance to win fun prizes.
